Dem?

Got Saito the Elvaan Miss Tank Samurai to agree to help me with Dem (though I'd kinda rather have been able to talk Nabiki into it, since she could have healed us). Provided I supply gear. Easy enough. Aniko had a full set of stuff that Saito the Samurai could wear, so I borrowed it.

Yay!


Yesterday, we tried to find a party and it failed miserably. Today I had slightly better luck. Got a full party quickly, we were armed with multiple anima, reraise, food... you name it. Plus, Saito, who's got the best luck I've ever seen...

Might balance out my abysmal record with Dem.


So we get in and head up. We avoid aggro, the MR is always the right one, and we find the spire on our first shot (more because I have the path to it memorized by now than anything else, though). Then we go into the battle field. We ALMOST WON, but the Offspring killed us (again). Damnit, says I, but it's a good party set-up and we got close, and who's up for trying again tomorrow? So we decide to try that.

Saito and our ranger leave (they were tired), and the remaining four of us decide to farm anima for tomorrow, so we bop back over to Dem. Then our wonderful ranger from the weekend sends me a tell asking how it's going and why there are only four of us in all of Dem. I tell him we're farming. He says he wants to come. That's fine, and yeah we have room for the other ranger, too (also from the weekend's Dem attempts).


Apparently he missed that "farming" bit, because they wanted to climb the tower again. Well then. It's been almost two hours, but we'd need to run back to Jeuno to get our anima refined. So we do. (We all had warp scrolls, thankfully.)

I'm so broke. I have maybe 500G to my name... I had to borrow 6k from Aniko to do this. -_-;


We teleport back and start up. Doesn't go so well. Duds galore, aggro everywhere...

But we still make it.


We enter the battlefield and I'm hit really hard before we've barely hit the thing.

Well, I think, this is going to be a waste of time, gil, and anima.


But I'm cured and no one drops yet. Our wonderful ranger kills the Offspring and the other warrior and I nail the thing when it's starting to weaken. Someone (our white mage, I suspect - I told her to use it when they got the thing's attention and we couldn't pull it back) used a terroanima, so I spent a few seconds chasing the thing down. We both got some good hits anyway, though, and Utsusemi really is a blessing when you can get it up...

We spam our three hysteroanima, someone else uses their terro (we only had three of the two - no psycho - so now I held the only one), and I let my terro fly after it wore off and told the rangers to aim well. The thing had been at nearly dead for a while and I was waiting for the Offspring to nail the mages, as always ends up happening....

And the rangers kill it.


Then my brain kinda broke and hasn't fully repaired itself yet.




...I woke up in a strange place I've never seen before. But that vortex in the dunes? I found it's match, because there was one there and when I got close to it I somehow ended up back in Valkurm.
